2012 Tour Pack removed
« on: October 29, 2012, 06:13:42 PM »

Here are some pic's I took of my friends 2012 CVO ultra. Orange County HD (Irvine, Ca) completed the work. The amp is his saddle bag. They did a CLEAN job. He is VERY pleased with the results.
The next planned projects to finish off the final Street Glide look are

1. Low profile rear tire
2. New 1/2" - 1" rear shocks
3. Danny Gray - Custom solo seat.

Looks great...

Have you considered moving the license plate to a position under the turn signal bar (Like a SG?)

He will try to flip his bracket holder upside down first...or look for a new holder. Yes, that is on his list..... :2vrolijk_21:

The SG turn signal assembly is a bolt-on and has the provisions for the lower license mount. (It might partially obscure the CVO emblem on the rear fender though.)

Here's another option to clean up the back fender area: http://www.cyclevisions.com/index.php/cvstore/elim-g-b.html

Would go nice with the LED lights on the tourpack when its installed as well.

I also did a detachable TP on my 2010 SEUC. I elected to eliminate the rear amp and went with a more powerful amp from Biketronics that fit in the fairing. I didn't want to lose the space in the saddlebag since when the TP is off, the rear amp is useless.

I went with the HD Layback plate bracket which looks far nicer than the stock bracket whether the TP is on or off. I didn't like the look of the plate underneath since it covers half the CVO emblem on the fender. Looks halfa**ed IMO.

Glad to see photos - having my TP removed this week and its becoming "detachable".  Amp relocated to saddlebag.  I'm now sure it'll look great.  Also fitting LED lights (front & rear) - why don't they come as standard on CVOs?

If I were doing a removable TP on an ultra, I would do the amp in the fairing upgrade also. I wouldn't like to lose the space in the bag to hold the stock amp either. I went with Arc audio and works great.  Looks great without the TP back there.  :2vrolijk_21:

Bike looks great but I am not sure I understand the whole make my SEUC "look like" a Street Glide thing... :nixweiss: I guess if I was doing mostly around town or short distance rides the lighter, leaner bike without the tour pack could be helpful. I agree with the others, I would lose the rear Amp for a better one that would fit under the fairing.

The reason why I did it. I have Two bikes to choose to ride in about 3 minute time.

+1 same reason for my upgrade to a detachable TP.
