Looking for a good tuner in the Midwest
« on: October 29, 2012, 07:17:09 PM »

Adding cams to the SEUC, next week, how do I know if the guys at the dealership are tuning the bike correctly or if I need to take it somewhere else. I'd also take a recommendation on a good tuner using the SESPT.

We are located where IA, MN, SD, and NE meet. Hope to find someone within 500 miles.

Website looks good, but it looks to be more than a one ride from me.

Basically, you're looking for your numbers (TQ and HP) to start as high as possible and continue upwards in as smooth an arch as possible.....no signifcant dips in either the HP or TQ.

Dyno Bob is about the best in my opinion and he's done many, many members bikes from this site right here in Calif. and from as far away as Canada....you can look at any of their dyno sheets elsewhere on this forum.  Here are links to two of them that I'm able to locate readily:

Within the traveling range you suggest should be Gail's HD on the south side of Kansas City.  Tuner that's been there a long time has a good reputation.  I know a few bikes he's done and all have performed as expected and run well.

SBB, leaning toward the TW 222, but its not in the bike yet :) thanks for the info, it looks like the bike comes apart tomorrow, wonder what they'll find.

Bob Woods recommended the Harley dealer in Clinton Iowa.  I know that's all the way across the state for you.  Look up King Of Cubes in Des Moines Iowa.  He is closer to you and should be able to help you.

Ordered the TW 222 for the bike, even though Chip gives a great testimonial for the TW 7H, the 7H performance and fuel Econ, weighted heavy but, I decided I wanted a cam that you come on just a little sooner therefore I went with the 222. Can't wait to get the bike apart and back together, spring needs to hurry up can come back soon.

Faribault Harley is about a 4 hour ride for you, east on 90 for 150 miles, then north on 35 for about 50 miles.  I heard they were tops in the MN area and have since taken my Cuse 3 and Cuse6 to them and have always had great service and performance.  Now that my buddies haven't been able to keep up, they took their bikes over there as well, and they were impressed with everthing from the guidance and expertise they provided, no pressure, and good pricing.
