I was wondering what speakers you guys are using in your seeg's? I'm wanting to replace the stock speakers and wanted to know what works best with the radio unit in our bikes? Thanks

Vary happy with the Hawg Wired speakers in mine, but an amp and Sony head unit so I could stuff MP-3 selections help too.

I used and liked the HawgWired component speakers for several years.  Except I got repetitive failures with them.  One of those "sounded great while working" things.

Then followed Matt's (Screamin_Beagle) lead and used Polk Audio MM521's.  Rare earth magnets on the speaker.  Still a good component set.  Much much lighter than the HawgWired speakers; always a good thing inside the fairing.  Considerably cheaper too.

Best was that all that was gained and they sounded every bit as good if not better.  For that price range they're worth at least a look before purchasing.

I have the polk audio 525 in my Seeg.  They work great with the Hawg wired 120 watt plug n play amp.  Worked really well for many years.

I bolted a set of Boston Acoustics in mine! Not much change but a little more bass!

   Keep us updated on how they last,  I'd love the feedback on any benifits or whatever.  I'll certainly look at the specs and do some research. The key's to look at are the amp (stock or whatever, impedance 4 OHM or 8OHM per the amp manufacturer) sensivity and output. You know as well as I, listening to tunes at 95MPH with only two speakers is a challenge.  I'm looking to do a base in the Bushtec but I may need to load a voltage inverter or one hell of a big stator to get it done. I still have to do the circuit analysis to see if it can be done, but I think I can generate some power from the wheels and add a small LiTHi battery and some solar to make it work.
    I never want to reduce the power of my bike because the balls is what makes it fun for me, however on long trips....I'd love the
1)  No drain on the motor (chit...It's gotta be fun to ride)
2)  You still have to run power to the amps.
3)  Don't want to modify the motor too much (talk to Hubbard about "ol Maude)
4)  Make it be maintenance free.

Still working on the trailer (after the crash....another story) but that's the idea.

I went to Peter Jensen at Soundz Customz out of SD while in Sturgis last year.....focal speackers, Arc amp......abosultely great sound and Peter is great to work with.....

Today I removed my Hawg wired dcs1202 amp.   For quite a while it has been citing out on me while I was stopped at a light with the volume up.   Then it would play normally after I would get my rpm s  up..  Lately it has been cutting out even at speed.   I removed it today to see who the culprit was.  Amp or radio.   It's the amp.  I guess I'll call them up and see what's up with it.  The radio plays really well with the 61/2" Polk audio speakers I have in there.  Not sure what I'm gonna do now,,,  maybe just leave it alone.
