Valentine.  Have two. Upgrades are not too expensive work great. Ten years at least with them.

Escort all the way. Saved my a$$ countless times. I have the Road Tech detector that's going on the bike.....it's an Escort 8500 inside.

Thanks everyone! OK only one post specified which Escort model they were using (8500) but are all of them about the same. Was a little surprised of the price on the Escort website. Will have to research some better prices. I saw the model that was cordless that came with batteries, it looked interesting. I like the idea about not having a cord hanging down. Anybody have that model?

From my experience, the cordless models don't have the same performance as the corded ones. There are some great "mirror stalk mounts" out there...and hard wire a cord into the vehicle to get rid of the lighter plug and loose wires.

...and here is a link to the mount site.......and they now have a nice easy cord too.

Now the link is really here:    http://www.blendmount.com/

I have both. I use the cordless if I do local traveling and the 8500 when I do long distance traveling. These things do work, but are not bullet proof. You
still have to be smart. I usually get someone who is a speed demon and let them lead the way and then just pace myself a little further back then them.

As for the cordless, I like it and have used them for a long time.

Ride Safe,
