881  Sylvania Silverstar Ultras are better than stock as are PIAA.

don't waste your money on the Silverstar, just get the LED's you will be a lot happier

I put the 50W Sylvania's in mine and couldn't be happier... along with the harness that allows them to stay on with the highbeam selected.

#889 bulbs fit and they are higher wattage. 50 watts I believe.

Run them in mine with no negative effects and they do a good job.

I'm almost 100% certain that I used the 881 series bulbs in 50W, but the 881's may only be the stock 27W... as mentioned above, the 889 bulbs may actually be the 50W version.

As far as the Controls Harness for keeping the passing lamps on while using the highbeam, the HD Part Number is 69200441.  I could have ordered online, but I just went to the Dealer and they actually happened to have (2) in stock.  So I grabbed one quick.

The instructions require that you remove the outer fairing... but the harness connection is fairly easy to get to, especially if you help bring it toward the front by reaching from the inside fairing and push it out a little.  Took longer to take off the fairing than it did to access the plug and connect the harness.

Once that you see how bright they are you will be able to justify the cost.......  IMO the passing lights do more than the head light...
