2011 FLTRX 103

Rear brake switch

Oil pressure sender

Front wheel bearings

TBW wiring harness

Still needs lifter rattle and pinging at part throttle fixed.  MoCo and dealer say both are normal.

That "lifter rattle" is most likely a rod, that noise is NOT normal.  Mine is almost completed from the same thing, down for over 2 months, glad I have 2 bikes.  Total rebuild due to all the damage it caused. NOT an isolated incident, there is a history of this problem.    A few posts up another one had same trouble.

IF all these problems were with your car/truck, would you keep it?  Would you buy another of the same brand?

Yes to both from me. Heritage, history and rumble get me every time. I had an '04 Road King prior to this '11 SERGU, I put 78,000 miles on it and she NEVER left me stranded. I had to limp home once b/c the shifter arm broke. IMHO you overlook small issues and HD fixes the larger ones, mostly. It's a free country (thanks veterans for keeping it that way), but someone show me a Honda or Victory dealer that has a larger part of a store for parts and clothes that for the bikes. I just purchased a Victory hat and t shirt for a friend for a birthday gift. I found 1 dealer withing 45 miles from my home and I had a choice of 1 hat and 3 shirts!

On the other side of this..only 34 or so reported warranty work...when you consider the number of us out here..Maybe not so bad? Of course it's bad for the few, but for what seems the majority..not so bad?

What do you guys think?

I was a contractor for years. An old adage I lived by was "Do a good job and that customer will tell a friend, do a bad job and they will tell 100!" I think the same holds true for HD!

2011 FLTRUSE - bought used 4/10/12 with 1159 miles

Brake switch before I bought the bike
neck bearing tightened
leaking oil line
heated seat for rips

To be checked out.
Tossed a front wheel weight that the wrench had reused when he rebalanced the tire causing a ding on the inside of the front fender.

'07 FLHTCUSE2 70K miles Mostly all separate claims Standard and extended warranty
Head recall
Head gaskets
Base gasket
2 Inner primary bearings
2 Compensator's
Ring gear
Clutch basket (hub)
2 starter clutches
Pinion gear
Primary chain
Cam chain tensioner
Shifter shaft seal
Radio
Heated grips
And now it's in for a total rebuild as pretty much everything failed in the engine from the bottom end on up.
I think the extended warranty has paid for it's self  :)

Mine was completed yesterday, I have a page and a half, single spaced, of parts!  Thankfully I too had the extended. Now if it ever stops raining, I'll get more than 5 miles on it.  Gotta do the entire break in process again. After more than 2 months, it sure was strange to ride after having been on the Heritage for so long.

I recently purchased 3 more years of the factory warranty. A total of $1,600 and they let me finance it interest free for 18 months. $89/Month. The nicest part is it includes the tire warranty and I have a friend who owns a shop that does the tire replacement, sooooo, rather then getting out tire depth gauge and seeing it is close to 3/32 and then screwing a screw into the tread and driving to the HD dealer, I just bring it to him. I am thinking over 5 years, times four tires a year, that alone is worth the $1,600!

That would be insurance fraud, and your friend who owns a shop must be a really good friend if he's willing to commit a crime for you :nixweiss:

And we wonder why our rates are so high :confused5:

Property only, I would never do auto as there are too many people putting screws in their own tires!  8)
