Hey Shelby. Looks like we are barking up the same tree. Please throw in your 2 cents Scott. I have a 2013 CVO and am getting ready to upgrade. I have a local builder here in Missouri that comes with pretty good references. I went to him talking about doing the cam and Gasket up grade that you see on Fullsac's Websight, Andrews 54 with a Comitec.030 gasget. I tld him that I was looking for power across the total riding range. I also told him that this was a one shot deal, that I wasn't coming back for more power later (yea right, I know). I told him I wanted him to tell me what I ought to do to do it right the first time, I told him money wasn't an issue. I wanted sometghing ridable and reliable. This is what he came up with:
S&S 570 cam
Port and polish the heads.
I think hes doing some other head work like springs and valves also but Its over my head and I cant remember
Use a Comitec .030 gasket
Mill the heads in combination with the gasget to get the compression up to 9.8.
He stated he didn't want to do high compression pistons because its possible to have trouble with pinging and if you go out west (which I do) its sometimes hard to get higher octain gas
I noticed the Cams call for a compression of 9.1 to 10.0 on the S&S web site.
Does this sound all reasonable Scott ?
