Very glad to see that you dont look like the skunk.  Too many times the rider goes down in that collision.   WHEW!

I hit a deer a number of years ago while riding a Heritage Softail at night.  Met a semi truck when eyes readjusted to light it was right there.  Downshifted hit brakes then full throttle on impact.  I did not go down either but needed new front end on bike, fender, forks, windshield, lights etc... new air cleaner, and exhaust also.  New underware for me and a whole new perspective on riding at night.  Glad you are safe

Wow ! ! !     The Angels were riding with you on that one.   Glad you weren't hurt, do you get to keep the venison as door prize for all the angst its going to cause while you get the skunk parts replaced?

Holy Crap, glad you are ok, I was hit by two vultures on two seperate occasions here in Florida, both on US-95 doing the speed limit, once hit in head, lucky I had a fullface helmet riding my Buel, the other time hit right in the chest riding my softail, about knocked me out, both time having to pull over & wipe all the birds blood off me, not a fun experience, again glad you are ok.

How the heck did you survive that without going down. Yikes!!!
I have been on the fence about buying a RG, you just sold me. No doubt the frame mounted fairing was a lifesaver here.

Now you need to do three things;
   Church on Sunday
   Buy Lottery Ticket
   Fix the "Skunk"

All the best,
Tom P.

Hate seeing that bike so messed up but it can get fixed and great that you did not get hurt.  How fast you traveling when you hit that thing?

Hit my first deer this past Sunday night doing about 60mph. He showed up so fast I never even had a chance to get off the throttle. He hit me square in the side of the faring and then spun around the rear of the bike hitting my leg, the saddle bag, and the around to the rear fender. Luckily I was able to keep the bike up and suprisingly rode right thru him. I'm convinced if I had been on my UC, the force to the faring would have altered my steering and probably sent me out of control. Major kudo's to the RG and it's frame mounted faring. I came out the other side without even a scratch.  :orange: :orange:

WOW! Glad you were not hurt! Bikes can be fixed much easier than people. Never thought of it but the fixed fairing on the RG probably did play a role in you remaining upright. If you believe in luck, you were lucky. If you believe in fate, you were lucky. If you believe in God, you know who to thank.

Ride safe!
