110th Anniversary Jacket Question

Dumb question...  Today, I picked up an xl Anniversary jacket (not the limited edition version), and it has a snap on the collar that I can't understand.  As you can see in the photo, there is a male snap on each side, but only one female.  The extra male snap seems to have no purpose, and I wonder if it is a defect on my jacket.  Can someone explain the purpose, or if you have the jacket, does yours have one too?

If you dont zip to the top and snap up, you snap the 2 on the same side together so it doesnt flap around in the wind

Well, that's what I thought, but it's a very tight bend.

Ah we'll, I guess I can chalk this up to a senior 'duh' moment!
