Clutch adjustment
« on: November 25, 2012, 06:44:41 PM »

Clutch on my CVO RGC is sure different than the other ones I've had. Have to let it almost all the way before it engages. Was told there is no way to adjust. Was I lied to?

There is no adjustment on the hydro clutch and they are different than the cable clutches. If there is air in the clutch line it can affect the release point. Best bet is to fully bleed the clutch out and then go from there.

Like Jim said, there is no adjustment possible for the hydraulic clutch and I too noticed the engagement point was a little later than the point to which I normally adjusted my cable clutch.  Of course it could be that there is some air in your system but I've had four CVO bikes with the hydro clutch and never had any trouble at all with any of them and I ride a lot.  I think you'll get used to it pretty quickly.  It is one of the better systems the moco has devised.  No maintenance and works right every time.  I like it.   :2vrolijk_21:

The only adjustment u have is under the derby cover. Service book says 1/2 - 1 full turn out. I adjusted mine a little under a half after reading somewhere it takes some of that harley "clunk" out of the shifts ... it did seem to help. I have a cable on mine so it can be fine-tuned better than u guys with the hydraulic.
