I tossed a leg over the RG yesterday, liked the sitting position and seat height, loved the dash farther out in front of me. When the weather clears I might take one out for a spin.  After so much Heritage time and then getting my Ultra back yesterday I really am tired of the top heavy, a lot of work to ride in town beast.  I really found my ol SG comfortable, too bad it liked riding on flat beds so much or I'd still have it!!

I've pretty much always had one of each in the garage. To me it depends on the type of riding I'm going to do. When the wife and I go on long trips, I prefer to ride the ultra, because of the touring seat, and extra luggage space. but when it comes to zipping around the country side, and cutting corners with my riding buddies, the Road Glide handles much better with the frame mounted fairing. But like everyone says it's just my opinion.  Hope this helps.

As you can see, there are pros and cons to both.  Personally, I couldn't stand the wind buffeting on my RG and changed it to a batwing.  That made the ride so much better (for me and the BSR)!

My best advice here is to test ride them for yourself.  The proof is in the pudding!

You can pretty much eliminat the wind buffetting by installing the deflectors on the engine guard in front of the fuel tank...but like all have saideach has his/her own reason for riding what they ride...otherwise they would still be available in any color you want as long as its black   :2vrolijk_21:    good luck

Road Glide for all the reasons mentioned but will add one. Loads of room in the fairing to add audio goodies. Both are sweet though.

its already been said..... YOU MUST RENT BOTH BIKES FOR A RIDE!!!! maybe a dealer will work with you and ride both, for the price of one rental.....

IMO...the CVO road glide looked more Custom than the Street Glide till the 2012 SG came out...then it was a tie...

The bike you get MUST GIVE YOU A WOODY EVERYTIME YOU LOOK AT HER IN THE GARAGE!!!!!
My 2006 ride still does.... :bananarock:

but I did have to dress her up (my ride) with some new rims this year after checking out every color of the 2012 CVO Street Glide with my buddy...  :2vrolijk_21:

I personally ride a SE6 my friends argue about this same question all the time.  When we switch bikes I personally cant tell the difference when out on the highway.  But we are only going about 70 mph also.  In town I like the batwing better cause thats what I am use to.   But from what I have read on here if your going to have a rider.  You might take them with you when you test ride both bikes to see what they feel also with the wind issues.  I also think both bikes look good in their own way.   Heck I would love to have another bike to go with the SE6 the girl friend is getting a darn trike.  not by my choice by thats what she wants.  I would have either one of them myself if the price was right.  But if push came to shove for me I think since I already have a batwing I would go with the rg.  Only reason was to make a high speed bike out of it. here in Ohio we have a place to go and drive really fast.  Called the Ohio Mile.  Its fun to go and watch.  But that would be the only reason I would really need a fixed fairing.   OK I am rambling.  but I think what ever you choose you will be happy.

I had the opportunity to ride both an ultra Electra and an Ultra Roadie back to back on the same route of twisty, bumpy pavement up in NH during Laconia Bike Week. The Roadie was hands down a better handler in that type of riding. I was up in the air on which bike I ultimately want until that day. Here in the mountains of NC the Road Glide is my choice. Now I have to hold out until I can swing the price of the one I am dreaming of owning.

My wife rides her own and she prefers the Street Glide because it feels smaller, the gauges and such are in easy reach for her.

I like my RG 10 times better than my old 05 SEEG & I think it looks better too. Some guys just hate a fixed fairing but I'm not one of them.
