Sissy Bar for Breakout??

Need to get a sissy bar for the new bike, could order from the dealer but would prefer not to (though I do need to order the red/brown leather pad)- does anyone that has a Breakout and a sissy bar or an 09 springer with the 240mm tire/fender know the width of the sissy bar?  My sideplates are good from my 07 springer, but obviously the sissy bar isn't wide enough since the 07 had a 200mm tire.  Thanks for any info.

You probably have already found your answer.  I had a chance to buy a cvo springer 2009 sissy bar cheap and hoped it would fit- it doesn't. But it's one piece with brackets welded and seems to be a good 1.5 in too narrow(40mm? So it probably never fit the 09 cvo springer). Btw, 09 cvo springer was my dream bike till the breakout came out.   Ginz makes a decent looking sissy bar but I don't like there brackets, and the breakout models don't fit the harley brackets.  Yes- i have all three sissy bars now.  I doubt the MoCo will make the same 09 cvo springer style for the breakout as a medium height sissybar would not keep it looking low and lean.  So I'm looking for a custom shop to possibly take the 09 springer sissy bar and fab/mod it to fit the harley brackets since its the best looking one by far. 

Imagine the CVO offspring of the 09 Springer and the 13 Breakout???

I had to buy a sissy bar due to whining girlfriend.  You want to know the width of bracket?  Its a real easy connect/disconnect.

The one that supposed to fit the 09 CVO Springer is 12.0 inches and the CVO Breakout is 14.0 inches- measuring the bracket width.  BTW, I'm getting the sissybar for the GF too.  She didn't whine but I could tell when I would get on the throttle, not to mention any sudden inputs due to traffic or potholes.  Get the bar or ride slower, so...

So I had the Springer sissy bar stretched and the side plates cut and ends milled to fit the adjustable side plates...

I went with the HD rack and passenger backrest.  Works pretty good.  I went through Rebecca at Tri County.  She is great.

Glad you got it done! KLB0 that narrow sissy bar isn't from a 2009 CVO Springer. The CVO Springer and Breakout use the same sissy bars as they both have the same tire (240mm) and fender width. That one piece is from a 200mm back tire, I had a similar one on my Fatboy,  they never made a 1 piece for the CVO Springer. Your mod looks great though!

I got the controls for both sides off a guy that just put forward controls on his brand new fatboy for 140.  Then I bought pans, inserts and brake pedal to match the theme.  Shift lever switched over fine, didn't need to buy it.  Had to grind just a little off the right bracket so the D&D Lowcat wouldn't touch.

Didn't make sense to me but I was told it would fit the 09 CVO springer and I confirmed with my local dealer.  Website says it also- so I thought it would fit the breakout, right?  I wish I could have checked it before buying.  Finished product not as clean as the one piece but still happy.
