I cannot find the link but i do remember one thread about this.

The picture above is what they came out with after. The one that was suppost to come with my bike had the B&S logo. Saying that my buddy who has a 2011 CVO Convertable is like the picture above.

I believe what happened was that Apple was in the middle of going from an older model to a new model of ipod and thats why there was a big difference in what everyone received from 2010 going into 2011.

You guys got me curious up so I opened the package that mine was in.  The Nano that came with my FLHTCUSE8 looks like the picture that 2012_FLTRXSE posted 8GB.   I received my bike in October of 12

... And here's what that Li'l Gen 6 Nano will look like with a Rider's Claw mount.
Apple is now up to the Gen 7 Nano and we have a Rider's Claw for that too!

At least all the newer CVO's have iPod provisions in the saddlebags.

I bought a retractable cable and put it in an Otterbox case and put it all in the forward glovebox on my '09.

I know the one in my '12 looked like this:

It's still in the storage box... I use a 120GB iPod
That is what the one that came with my 12 looks like and what the one that came with my 13 looks like.  I use them both, one in each bike at all times.

How does one determine the generation?  Mine is labeled "IPod nano 8GB Graphite" and "ModelA1366".

2013 looks the same.  Don't know the generation.  How important is it to know that?

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1353

Capacity (storage) and interface (connector) are the two major things to know.

The iPod 7th generation will work with the iPOD interface in the CVO models after buying the Lightning to 30 pin adapter

Thanks for the info.  Not much of an Apple/Ipod person.  Looks like what ever generation came with my SE8 will hold more music than I could ever listen to.   :)

So, my silly question of the day is just how far can you ride without radio/satellite reception and or Cd's?  Are the days of singing to ourselves truly gone or have we all fallen victim to technology vs. good old riding?

Many times I just ride and listen to the pipes.  No radio, cd's, xm, cb, etc.  Just the road and some solitude.

Was just at Bestbuy to get another iPod to have a friend stuff it with music for me. They only had the new 16GB gen 7 nano. Was on sale for 109.95.(open box item) Got the adaptor for 29.95. Should be big enough to hold alot of tunes.

Little bigger than the square one HD includes.

I assume the adapter is the interface adapter of the motorcycle mount?
