Tour Pak string for lid
« on: December 06, 2012, 03:53:15 PM »

I have read about the part which replaces the string to hold the lid on when open with a hinge. I have been meaning to purchase this for sometime and searched without any results. What is the manufacturer or where is the thread for this upgrade? I thank you in advance. I thought the retractable string which came on my CVO was really cool and liked it much better than the string on my 08 classic, but after thinking about it breaking i am ready to replace it. I know someone has had this break and the lid hit the car in his garage, help...

I just put the ultra brace on my bike a couple of weeks ago and totally love it. No more worries about the tether breaking when I need to open the lid with a bag attached.  I followed the instructions to mount mine to allow it to open a little farther than normal. This is a solid piece and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

+1 the Ultrabrace is definitely the way to go.
