 Installed Paul Yaffe license plate frame on my 2012 CVO Streetglide. The only problem is the red reflector that mounts behind the original license plate frame put a nasty rub mark on my fender. Did not go through the paint, just rubbed the clear coat off. Sticks out just above where the new Paul Yaffe plate frame stops. Has anyone experienced this and can it be repaired?

I took the reflector off and noticed the same thing. I haven't installed my Yaffe yet but I think I can get mine off by buffing it out.

I was wondering also about flipping the license plate frame upside down. I think it might cover it but I'm afraid the fender mounting bracket hardware might be seen.

I have the same problem,but also a mark under plate.Talked to a local body shop & they said it would have to be buffed out.Have not had the work done yet,but they said that would take care of it.

Thanks for the input. It's a square mark thats about 1" by 1" . I didn't know if it could be buffed out or not.

Can you post a picture, as I have been thinking of installing the Yaffe license frame but am concerned with it covering the yearly tag.

I was also concerned about that because KY sticker goes in the upper right hand corner,but it does not hide it.I will try to post a pic tomorrow.

I had the Yaffee plate installed. I think it looks great! There is the issue with a mark/line that is though the clear coat. I had it buffed out at a detaling shop. All good.

Picture of the scuff. I was able to make it look better by trying to polish it out. You can still see the indention in the paint. I think it might have to be feathered out and wet sanded.

Any good body shop could very lightly color sand that, then re-clear it and color sand the clear and buff it out and you should never be able to see it.
