GPS routes on this site
« on: December 09, 2012, 12:15:45 PM »

I was trying to open up one of the  trips listed but all of the routes there are in .gdb files. I got an error message that I could not open that kind of file on my computer. Is there a free download I can use to be able to view and download these?

Thanks

.gbd indicates a Garmin file.  There is a Garmin app for the Mac, but I'm not real sure about pc.  Check the Garmin website for info.

Garmin has two programs that work with their products, MapSource and BaseCamp, and both can be downloaded from the Garmin website.  However those downloads don't include the actual maps, but just the software to work with the maps.  Do you own a Garmin GPS with a current map subscription?

I will own a Garmin soon once my cvo comes in. I did download basecamp earlier today and am able to see map routes but not gps co-ordinates. Perhaps once I have a garmin unit with subscription then that will enable me to see those co-ordinates

Thanks
