Front bag guards...
« on: December 17, 2012, 03:29:16 PM »

So what's the story with our CvO...because of the stretched bags we can't have the front bag guards? I see that you need a support bracket that won't work with our rear filler plates....has anyone found a way to do this?...I like the look and like to put some leather bags to protect the fronts from wife's boots...

Just like all Street Glides, ours come with out front guards. Easily added and many have done it. It's not cheap, but what is?

Yes you can add saddlebag guards.  I would also suggest Motorcycle Armour to protect the bags from any stray boots or rocks.

Not sure where you got the info it wouldn't fit, but Harley seems to think it will fit just fine.  You can buy the all inclusive kit I've shown in the attachment, or you can buy the guard and the bag support separately.  The complete kit is chrome and regular profile only, if you want black you can buy the individual parts, and if you want the "Comfort" version with the top of the guard tapered for better leg room for the BSR you can also order that one separately.

If you were thinking of adding the one that comes with the two rails that wrap around the side of the bag, that's the one that won't work with your filler strips unless they are modified.

I don't have my bike yet it's being shipped from Idaho....I thought our bikes didn't have the lower bag support which is needed for the front bag guard...but on closer inspection I see that it's there...so the low profile ones are going on order...

The enlarged pic helps.  I didn't know if you had other pics in your profile that I didn't see. Thanks :2vrolijk_21:

The lower bag support that comes with the bike doesn't have the provision to attach to the guard, so if you order either the black guard or the comfort version of the chrome one, you'll have to also order the lower supports separately.  The following was taken from the catalog listings for the black guard and the comfort chrome guard.

Also requireed:   Saddlebag Supports (Black P/N 49194-09A and 90781-09A, Chrome P/N 49194-09 and 90781-09), Nut P/N 7531 (Qty 2) and Antenna Mounting Bracket P/N 76516-09
