Like the saying goes, opinions are like aholes ... we all have one. I personally don't care how they rounded out the saddlebags on the Kaw however I could learn to live with it. Yes, I agree they try to copy Harley's style like most every other manufacturer does because that's what we all love about Harleys ... that beautiful, classic look. HD always made the best looking bike out there and most likely always will, but reliability and how they deal with all their patrons is what turns most of us away. Hear that Mother Harley? Get with the times ... build some of that metric reliability into your bikes, lose your corporate greed and I wouldn't be searching for another bike! This being the third bike I bought from you .... STRIIIIIIIKE THREE ... you're OUTTA HERE! I only hope I'm not dumb enough to give them a couple more outs before I die, lol.
I realize there is no such thing as the perfect bike right out of the crate. They all have their different bugs, quirks and traits to work out before you can call it your own. Sometimes that's half the fun doing that, but I don' t have a money tree in my yard so HD is out of the picture for me. You guys can knock the metric bikes all you want ... for me they have treated me better than any Harley and is the reason I've owned more of them over the years. Hell, some of the used jap bikes I've had in the past I actually had less money in the whole bike than what I dumped into mods alone on a Harley! I'm just your average joe poor truck driver that wants a good reliable bike to enjoy. When I'm done hauling asphalt at the end of the day I go home, wash the stink off me, get a bite to eat and hop on the bike to unwind. I don' t care if its a Harley, Honda, Kaw or whatever ... just so long as its reliable and puts a smile on my face.
To leave on a good note ... if I like the Kaw it will have a happy home sitting in the garage with three other bikes that end with an "I".
