TTS Master Tune
« on: December 19, 2012, 09:31:24 AM »

Been wondering about remaping a stock ECM. After the ECM is down loaded with a new map, Is there a chance that it could loose it's map or memory later on down the road, or do they tell you to keep the interface with the bike for tuning purposes. Has anyone, or do you know of anyone having a problem like this ?
                  Thanks Jonnierock

The chance that the ECM will loose a tune is NONE. The ECM could fail but it will not loose the tune. I recommend on ANY tuned bike you carry at least the interface along with you. Many places have the cables and software to be able to make changes if you like but they would need the interface to be able to do so. I carry mine in a plastic packing list pouch that is stuck to the underside of the lid of one of my saddle bags. Completely out of the way and if I ever need it just open the plastic zipper on the bag and take it out. This also keeps me from forgetting what I did with it when I go to look for it.

             Thanks Steve,
That is kind of what I was thinking, but really didn't know for sure. I figured once the map was downloaded and it took the place of the original, it was in there for good, baring an ECM malfuction.
                  Thanks again Jonnierock

Steve, Good idea on carrying along the interface cables when going on a trip.Just for the record, I bought my TTS and canned map from you. Let's say I had to take my bike in to have some work done where I needed to download the original map(which I saved). After getting my bike back from the dealer would I then be able to reload your map a since, from what I understand, that certain map is "married to my ecm". Thanks. If my bike didn't run so good I would go to your stage two with andrews 54 and S&S lifters Thanks in advance CAHDBIKER

When you are on the road we have provided everything you need to everyone but you must have the cables and interface to make it work.

On our web site we supply FREE storage for your calibration files so you can retrieve them 24 hours a day 7 days a week so you do not have to worry about loosing them or having them with you.

http://www.mastertune.net/repositary.php

The software can be downloaded by anyone from

http://www.mastertune.net/downloads.htm

Download and install the TTS Software Updater program onto a PC, then run it to install the software you need.

Now just hook up to the bike and restore the original file you saved from the bike and its just how it was prior to the TTS unit programming the bike. Once any work is done to the bike I like to save the ECM file just like you did the first time just in case they changed something, then program the calibration file for your tune back in again. It's that simple.

You can also store your calibration files on a small flash drive and carry them in with the interface if you like too. Our newer Mastertune2 unit will store the calibration files in the interface for you in our next software update which is in final checkout now. It should be released later next month.

I too carry my TTS Master Tune in my saddle bag all the time. Inside the box is a thumb drive with my original tune and the one that Kuryakyn loaded when I purchased the Perfect Storm setup. I never thought to carry the interface cable, but I will from now on. I also plan on purchasing an inexpensive laptop (Windows) if the original map needs to be replaced before taking it to the dealer. I have a Mac and the TTS isn't compatible, so I really do need a PC. I don't ride a CVO, but I have the next best thing, a 2012 Ultra Limited, I kept that other 10 grand for beer and other fun things.  :cucumber:

actually many mac laptops will also boot windows - as long as the software is using a usb port it will work just fine.

of course the real cats meow would be to have mastertune run on a ios so that it could be run from a ipad, etc - that would end the on the road issues entirely.

if wishes were horses.....
