Converting to a Torqmaster Twin Cam 140"
« on: September 05, 2006, 06:45:06 PM »

Decission made ... I am now a fuel injection convert. I just want more.

I have a few friends who have ordered new 110" so my next modification needs to move forward in order to stay in front. Does anyone know of people using Eagle Motor Company 140" kit?

If warranty wasnt an issue, and I wanted that kind of power, I would call Kendall Johnson and at least see what they had to say... my 2 cents...

Becareful, I have dealt with this company and they are partime harley/motorcycle guys, alot of trial & error stuff (with little or no warranty) call and talk to them you will see for yourself. [smiley=oops.gif]

a quote from their website
"Dr. Frank Bao has a Ph.D. In Experimental Physics, and has owned his company for the past 23 years.  The parent business is manufacturing airflow testing equipment for the jet engine industry."

Can't hurt to check with Kendall.  I spent some time in Cincy with him last year, he's done a couple of the S&S 145 ci   I sure don't want to speak for him but if I recall the conversation, he felt he could get more out of the 124.   Might have been a $$ vs HP type decision.  The beer sometimes distorts all the finer details of the conversation.

Or I'll ask him.  I'm hauling the bike up there the last week of September and dropping it off for 4 days.  Basically said I want a bad ass touring bike.  I haven't seen the complete list, but I think right now we're on to get the heads done, new pistons, cams, hi flo /hi psi oil pump and it seems like I'm missing something else.  I'll post when I get it back.   Zack says the last two 103's he did were going in the range of 110hp / 115 tq.

One of those deals where my buddy trust him and his work so I'm going on that trust  and Kendall's reputation.

I did ring them first having been recommended to them by a big motor man (H&L Performance) who doesn't do EFi twin cam motors. I spoke to the man himself and he told me what he does for Rolls Royce aero here in UK and suggested that I look more at his website before calling back.

I am keen to know the detail if you have had a negative experience.

I believe your right Tony on Kendall doing a 145 evo. A freind of mine knows someone who had a 145 KJ motor put in a new Ultra, they had to cut the frame to make ample clearance. I'm sorry but I cant say if it was a carb or efi conversion but I do remember my freind saying he ran with this guy, now my freind has a 124 and he said this guy pulled away from him like he was on a drag bike so he said.

I'll ask when I'm out there,  honestly don't remember if we were talking carb or efi.

Tony,
Here is my experience you judge for yourself. I bought a front motor sprocket and primary chain, they didn't have much patients for me and when I called back with problems and they were very "OH well" matter a fact about the incorrect information I was given but they were more than willing to take my money. First they sold me a 27 tooth sprocket (stock is 25) and told me that it would work fine with my stock chain, well I pulled the primary apart and guess what? It didn't fit, the chain was too short, so I put it back together and called them and I was then told "I didn't say that it would definately fit, you need the longer chain with 2 more links" so I dropped another $100 on a new longer chain and tore my primary apart again! Guess what? The chains too long, by the time the shoe tightens up the chain, the pitch is so drastic it will not work!!! So now I have a 27 tooth sprocket ($200) and a primary chain ($100) sitting on the shelf in the garage (no refunds I was told). So I personnally would not do business with them again. Tony,
Will you stop it, please?  124's and 131's, didn't worry me.  But a 140 cu. in.?  Damn, wonder what that'll cost me?  :'( It just never ends, does it?  WFO-FTW!  Later--HUBBARD
