Did the CVO Road Glide Ultra come with a garage door opener?  I'm not sure about that one...

If yours did not, HD sells the kit for $129.95 and also works on the high/low beam switch. I added one to my '04 RK. i took me about 1/2 hour to install the kit on the bike.

I installed the garage door opener kit on my '09 ultra and love that it uses the hi-lo beam switch to activate... no fumbling for a remote.  Now I look forward to the factory-installed opener on my yet-to-be-delivered FLHTCUSE8A. Does the opener that is included with the CVOs also work with the hi-lo beam switch, or do you need to mess with a remote fob?

They use the high/low beam activation; it's the same kit that's sold in the catalog.

Hopefully somewhere in the near future Harley will embrace the HomeLink type of technology where you can program the transmitter in the bike to work directly with the door opener.  The current design does not work with many of the new openers on the market that use "smart" displays on the wall control.

Yes, all of the CVO "Ultra" bikes come with the GDO.

There are less expensive alternatives for those bike that do not come with it though.  Flash 2 Pass is one maker.  You can get their kit on Ebay for around $60-$70.  Or, you can take a fob from your current GDO and modify it to work with the H/L Beam switch.  Either is much cheaper than the HD kit if you're starting from scratch.  The HD GDO can give you problems if you install HID lamps in your headlight because they make a simple task more complicated than necessary in the way their transmitter operates.  Flash 2 Pass is simple and functional.

:soapbox:     Since 2004, I have used a mini, programmable garage door remote which cost me $12.  It was originally on my '04 RG.  I used a small piece of velcro to attach it to the underside of the left glove box door with the button facing down.  It has never failed and is perfectly easy to reach with the left hand just by raising the glove box door slightly.  You can find all kinds of them on E Bay or Amazon.  The velcro comes in a box for about $6 and you will find uses for the rest.  Why would anyone pay more?    :nixweiss:

i paid a little more.  i bought the odometer reset switch from the dealer for $14.00 and wired it into the gdo remote.  i then installed the switch in that little space between the speedo and tachometer, pulled the whole facing off (i have a road glide, little different than the batwings) and velcroed the gdo down inside the nacelle.  put the facing back on, and just press the button to open/close garage door.  easy enough to get to if the battery in it goes dead, and looks factory.  :2vrolijk_21:

That's the switch I've been lookin' for!! I've looked and looked...and it was right in front of me. You have the part #? I'm thinkin' of installing it in a switch blank..and since my remote is 12v, using power from the lighter.

Thanks Jerry!

I wonder if it'll fit inside a fairing switch blank?

I'm also seeing part #s: 67450-99 & 67488-04  for the switch and 67880-94 for the boot in the '08 parts catalog I remembered I had .
