Fuel gauge not working
« on: December 23, 2012, 09:30:23 PM »

I started the bike today and the fuel gauge is not working...it worked a few weeks back when I last used it. Didn't do any troubleshooting since I have not had time...but anybody got any ideas? It's plugged in...is there a fuse?? Everything else is working......or did the gauge just go bad 2 months after the warranty ended.......hopefully it's covered under ESP. Will look at it when I have time..good thing it's winter.

I'd say its a problem with the gauge then and not the sending unit

I agree since the icon on the fuel gauge doesn't even light up...Does anybody know if there is a fuse for it?

I'd try a new gauge.  I think most oh those gauges are on on the same electrical line.  The others would be out also.   New gauge time Mike.  :-\

I don't have access to a wiring diagram for your model bike, so I can't begin to answer your questions.  However, as for your question about a fuse, the answer is yes, the gauges are fused.  Your owner manual should have a diagram of the fuse box and what each fuse protects, and I'd suggest starting there.

If it's all the gauges on one fust then that's not it since everything else works......it's time to get my wiring diagram out and start checking for power at the connector...just thought I would ask here first since I have not had time to work on it. But siince it's snowing outside right now I guess there is no rush!
