I found this and thought it was too good not to share.  Sent me on a little trip down memory lane

I watched the entire Kennedy Center show last evening.  Very touching to watch the emotion of each of the recipients.  The Led Zeppelin segment was particularly emotional, and I think they enjoyed it immensely...

I know I did... :2vrolijk_21:

As good a tribute rendition as could get. Didn't think Heart could do it but it was extremely well done.

Somply fantastic.   Anne Wilson was amazing.   The look on Robert Plant and Jimmy Page's faces said it all.   I was waiting for them to join in all the fun. I loved every minute of that segment of the show.   :2vrolijk_21:

Abso-phukin-lutely badazz! :bananarock: :carrot: :jalapeno: :cucumber: :pepper:

For the past several months, I've been on a nostalgia music kick, listening to things I haven't heard for years:  Led Zepplin, Kansas, Judas Priest, Queen, Yes, Heart, Rush, Sabbath, Dixie Dregs, The Beetles, The Stones, EW&T, and on and on.  As a teenager in the 70s, I had no appreciation for what these early musicians had accomplished, and now as an adult, I'm blown away.

These groups were all on the cutting edge, and were often making up the rules as they went along.  Lots of it was garbage, but much of it was also genius.

Today we have the best singers that American Idol can produce, all perfect and sterile for mass consumption.  But when you look at pioneers like Jagger, Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, the Wilson sisters, Rob Halford, Geddy Lee, Ozzy, etc, they were raw talents, and had so much soul and energy and uniqueness, that they make today's artists look like talented lounge singers.  They wrote their own material, and were great songwriters, too.  I doubt Justin Bieber has ever even written a song.

That era was truly unique and special.   :soapbox: :soapbox: :soapbox:  Thanks for reminding us.

I watched again last night at least twice,,,      Nancy  Wilson killed it also on the acoustic guitar.  I could watch that over and over.  :)

I always try to watch Kennedy Center Honors, and this year's presentation was one of the best...
Wonderful tributes to Dustin, Buddy and Dave (who's was hilarious), and the tribute to Zep was totally awesome, especially the finale.

Thanks for sharing.

The other 2 Zep tunes performed. Cried watching each one! Lenny did a great job. Just makes you realize how great Robert's voice was!

I did not realize that was John Bonham's son on the drums during the Heart tribute.  I have listened to that clip more times than I care to admit and still get goose bumps listening to her.  The other two clips were good as well.

Great video....but did they have to show Barrack Obama in the audience.  I highly doubt he was a Led Zepplin fan at any point during his life!
