Why don't all CVO's come with...
« on: December 31, 2012, 07:55:24 PM »

Garage door opener
GPS mount
Accessory plugs wired to the fuse box (with the right fuse installed)
Heated grips
Remote locking
Stretched saddlebags
iPod wired in

What's on your list?

Having an 11 SEUC and a 13 SERK, I'm surprised by what does and doesn't come on the bikes.  Wiring in my GPS was an exercise in frustration given that there is an accessory outlet in the headlight nacelle but the terminal ends are difficult to obtain and the fuse block P&A plug is not wired up. Just ended up using the spare spade connectors in the nacelle.

If I could take my favorite parts off each bike and have them on both they would both be perfect.....

As far as the Garage Door opener.... I have tried wiring it everyway I can think of on an 'Overhead Door' and I finally put it on the shelf. Cannot get it to function beyond 'clicking' at the manual door button.... but no door movement.

Forgot about these. Agree, I like the liners in the Ultra and miss them in the RK bags.

Wired in my garage door transmitter on the RK yesterday and had no problems.  It's my understanding that some of the fancier openers won't work with the HD opener.

I wish for true customization......
Why call a bike a CVO if you can't sit down and order it exactly the way you want it? You can do that with a Sportster and another bike now. Why not a touring bike?
Seems like it would even help the MOCO in gauging demand for certain parts and could adjust inventory.
I know the dealerships would hate it if we didn't have to order from the parts catalog and have them install parts. Just think how uncrowded the service departments would be and it would be much easier to get maintenance or the occasional accessory installed.
