Pike's Peak
« on: August 10, 2004, 08:44:29 PM »

Anyone been up to the summit of Pike's Peak on their SEEG?  What a drive!  Didn't see any other bikes up there, but we were highly photographed...kept hearing, "My husband didn't want to try bringing his bike up here."

Beautiful pic Doc.  Got a question for you if you don't mind.  Do you happen to know the part number for the trim pieces on the leading edge of your saddlebags.  I don't remember seeing them in the catalog.

Thanks,
Don

Thanks for the part number Doc.  Just looked at them at HD's website.  Surprisingly not wild about them as shown there all by themselves.  They look very good, however, in combination with the center trim on all the FLHTCSE's bags.

Thanks again

That part of Colorado is absolutely increadable!  My brother lives at the base of Pike's Peak, in Divide, Colorado.  I really enjoyed my stay there, last week.......Garden of the Gods was cool, too.  That dealership is very fond of their bikes, thow.......very high mark up on the CVO's.

You know...it was odd.  If I had to decide based on guessing, I would say that the bike ran better up there.  Maybe it needs a tune-up for regular air.  We had three bikes up there.  Two FI and one carbed Honda.  THey all ran well, and we all thought that they actually ran better up there.  Weird.

I know I am breakin' open the time capsule on this thread...however I have been seeking some old information and run across this thread.

Here are some photos back in June 2006 when a few of us made it up...when we arrived at the top we were greeted with some snow furies and plenty of fun...

That brought back memories.  I remember the debate ahead of time.....about those who were going to ride up vs. those who thought we were out of our minds.  I don't remember how many bikes went up 10-13 maybe.  Nobody had any problems that I know of. :nixweiss:  An increadable view, for sure! :2vrolijk_21:

I would have to say in my case, my Road King ran like $hit.. Would not even spin a tire.
