New turn signal goodie
« on: January 03, 2013, 12:01:12 AM »

I picked up new LED turn signals for the front of my '11 SERGU today. The have sockets that simply push in a turn like a regular bulb. Stock lens covers work just fine. HD shop sold them, but they are after market. With the HID headlights, they look awesome! BRIGHT white running lights and they turn to yellow when directional is turned on. Not sure about the functionality but they look AWESOME day and night! No load equalizer added as dealer stated they are "self learning" Not sure what that means, but he told me to install them, turn on one directional and when it starts to flash quickly, turn on the other directional. Did that and no issues, turn signal run as normal. If I get the rear turn signals (Always stay red) then I will need a load EQ. For $80, I just like the look!

Glenn and HD-Dude, got a question for y'all.  Glenn, in your pictures it looks like you have a full LED lighting surface during running light mode and then a full light surface during blinker mode.  HD-dude, I've used this link before looking at these however, they do not show the lights that you have on your bike Glenn.  They show the white running lights that blink white while turn signals and then they have the model with white outer ring for running lights then the inner orange blink under turn signal mode.

Are these upgrades to the ones they are showing on the Custom Dynamics website and maybe they don't list them yet?  Glenn, I like the lights you have displayed/installed and would prefer to have that design.

What HD shop did you use?  May just order them from there and be done with it as you posted the stock number in a pic.  Thanks.

I've had these on my bike for over a year now.  They are Custom Dynamics Ringz, and have the white LED's around the outside, and the amber LED's inside.  When they are not blinking, only the white LED's are lighted, and they are bright enough that you cannot tell they are not solid white.  The amber only lights up when blinking.

I think these on Glenn's bike are a newer design that may not be on the website yet.  The Custom Dynamics website show those you speak of MR but if you look at Glenn's pics, the entire area of the light is white when in running mode then entirely yellow in blink mode.  Either will work but prefer those shown in Glenns pictures.

How bright are the white lites? Bright enough to work as driving lites? What will the cops think of the white lites, in conjunction with the amber alternating?

Dayne, the Custom Dynamics site is very clear these are not DOT approved.  Don't know about what would be legal up there in the great white North of Canada.
