They do just what they claim.......E-Z start.
Import bikes have had this for some time, as well as the V-Rods.

I want to do cams and maybe liftres on a 09 - 96" nothing exotic. We ride two up and pull a trailer on trips. Currently have thunderheader slip-ons and fuel moto air cleaner with Power commander 5 and auto tune. I am generally not a high reving person. I like the idea of the easy start. I have had cams in an EVO that made starting tough so the easy start turns my crank......sort of speak.

I just found some suprise teeth in my primary oil this past weekend, bike was having challenges starting occasionally when it was hot... starter would make an incredible screech... looks like the jackshaft gear had enough.

Just been searching the threads with any comments on the easy starts, doesn't seem to be any current input on if they work or not... think I'm going to try them this time around to prevent this from happening again.

Local HD Dealer has installed several sets over the Winter. Mainly in lieu of ACRs or Manual CRs.
S&S Promo

here is a list

:) - My Local S&S Dealer says - "With the S&S 551, Just Twist the Throttle and leave it there. Say Goodbye to the rear tire."
Greatly improves low-end and midrange torque, strongest from idle-4000rpm.

It is certainly in the typical Touring Bike most used RPM Range.

Had that problem too. Complained several times to the dealer about the hard start noise. Then I found some "teeth" in the oil. They still couldn't figure it out.

And what it looked like before I changed the ring and pinion.

Always figured if I ever removed the heads I would add CR's. Bu maybe the easy starts would be a better choice now. Mostly I was waiting for them to be out for awhile.
Hot, my bike has always been hard starting.

My chunks aren't as big as yours, I'm assuming that they're from the jackshaft.

I won't have time to rip it apart till next Thursday to see for sure, but when I slid by to arrange for the shop time I was shown a set of the easys... I'm told that this grinding comes as an option on some of the finer models, and if I don't do something other than repair the broken parts now I'm going to be making the same repair down the road.

The grind never happened when the bike was cold, only hot... I assumed the compression release would have been sufficient to address the problem but apparently not.

Based on what I've read from S&S it seems like they would work in theory, but like others, I'm worried about that tiny hunk of metal fluttering around on the cam, centrifugal force or not!

Thanks for the input.
