Satellite Radio

Anything I can do to get satellite radio on my 12 SESG other than the ZUMO unit?  I see Harley makes and add on for 500 bucks but it's no good for my model. Any suggestions?

I don't use my Sat. radio, from my I-phone through the head unit I listen to music from my Pandora App.   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

There is a thread on here on how you can have the X-M unit from Harley inside your fairing hooked up to the HK head unit.
I transfered the unit i had on my last bike.

I have it on my 2012 CVO Street Glide and the iPod still works also.
I did have to move the antenna outside the fairing though.

I used a portable satelite radio and mounted the radio on the handlebar with the car cradle and Ram Mounts components, plugged the power adapter into the cigarett lighter and you can buy the harley satelite radio antenna mount for inside the fairing for the antenna.  Works great on my wifes street glide.  The radio is the Pioneer XMP3.

It can be done, mine has the xm module (2011) and it was mounted under the fairing on top of the radio.

I followed the instructions on here to make the Y harness for my 2012 SESG and it worked perfectly.  I too relocated the antenna outside the fairing, but I would have done that anyway after riding my 2010 SESG 30,000 miles and having interruptions.

The threads here can be a little confusing because there is more than one way to do this and more than one model being discussed, but if you're not going to integrate a GPS with your radio and only need to add XM, the Y harness is the easiest and cheapest way to go IMO.

Do you have a link to these instructions? Thanks. I'm assuming you you purchased the XM module for the bike?

Not sure why you think it won't work on your MC.  :nixweiss:  I installed the XM module on my 2012 SESG.  It sits under the fairing on top of my radio.

Lovemycvogirl,
Was the satellite module just a plug and play set up, and do you control everything thru the hk head unit?
Also is the antenna mounted inside the fairing?
