it's not water or rain i'm trying to guard against - it's the dreaded boot scuff.  i dont care for the 3M solution.  realy thinking about perforated lid covers.

I have a 2011 SESG and upgraded, adding the rear lids with speakers and amp (same as 2012). I do not have any covers on them and have had no issues with water or rain.

If anyone comes up with or has someting other than the film and is compatible with the speakers in the lids and you have them on your ride can you please post some pics so the rest of us can see, Thanks, Chip
