Repacking fullsac cores
« on: January 20, 2013, 07:13:16 AM »

I'm getting ready to repack my fullsac muffler cores, seems like they have gotten louder over time, when installed 20,000 miles ago I reused the OEM material.  I have been reading that "techmat" is the material that seems the most popular. My question is do you use 1/4" or 1/2" techmat and how much is required to repack both muffler cores?

Thanks

I'm using this stuff on 3 different bikes. Seems to hold up pretty well. My 103 has 30k miles on the repack and no problems.

I've tried other packing, wrap and this is the only stuff that doesn't seem to burn out and blow out the pipes.

I bought a roll of 1/2" techmat on ebay, cut it in half lengthwise, and used each half in each muffler...
