Recommend Me Some Speakers
« on: January 26, 2013, 01:49:18 PM »

Looking for some speaker recommendations for my 2011 FLTRUSE. I need something that will take some abuse because I like to crank up my 4 channel Arc Audio amp. I've already blown two pair for the rear pods. Let me say price is not an option IF they hold up.

Bring it on.............

Focal's or Rokkers.
I guess anything can be overpowered, but you will probably blow you eardrums before either of these!!! :mickey:

Believe it or not I`ve blown 2 sets of J&M 5 1/4" Rokkers in the rear pods. So anything that has J and M in the name is not an option.  :P

x4 on the Focals ..

I put three pair of the 165KRC's on my bike.  Two pair came from local sound shop, $600 a pair (including TAX).
One pair came from EBAY  ~$400 a pair delivered.  They were the real deal, but likley not able to warrenty if its required.  I thought it was worth the risk.

for what ever its worth to ya ...

They are fine since they are vertical.  I wouldn't use a regular coax in the bags.  They do leak. Go with a bridge mounted tweeter type.  Like what hd uses.  An upgrade I am using is from Rockford.  They sound great and don't leak. And they have a 5x7.

Correction:  Soundzcustomz.com     They have speakers that go up to 6x9's for the front fairing and 6x9's for the saddlebags.

6x9 in the fairing ?   That's huge.  Biketronix is selling 6x9 HAT now.  I'm sure they are a big improvement too
