cover top of side bags
« on: January 27, 2013, 04:20:12 PM »

thinking of putting fake leather covers on the top of side bags. I don't want to hit the top corners with my boot, getting on and off. Anyone cover the tops of their side bags?  Alan

I have a set of Mustang leatherette covers for use on long road trips. The HD covers won't fit over the bag speakers, that's why I have gone with Mustang l

I had a set of kuryakin covers on my last bagger for 3 years. Took em off after every ride to wash and put em back on. Just sold the bike and the lids are still like brand new. They have a soft material inside so there in nothing rough against the lid to scratch it. Bike was all vivid black so they even looked good.

X2 on Motorcycle Armour. I have used it since bike waas new (about 9 months) and have "really nailed it" a couple of times and they have been great about sending out replacement pieces no questions asked. If it wasn't on, would have trashed my lids but instead, just had to deal with the hassle of re applying new piece which is a heck of a lot better then the hassle of re painting!

Try these guys.  I don't have them but have heard positive reports from others.

Use Motorcycle Armor!   :cucumber:

FYI

My Motorcycle Armor does NOT cover the corners of the saddlebag tops - mine (as all are) were designed & cut to cover the nearly complete top flat surface, but not the corners ...

so when I applied mine I moved them toward the front corners to catch the that critical outside front corner , with OK satisfaction, and now the rear corners are completely exposed ... not a problem for me anyway

making the clear vinyl fit the corner is difficult, but I did it, I think that's why they made them to just fit the flat surface - I called them on it and they had no good answer why the corners are left exposed, & I kept them ... most people can't see them on ...
