Please school me on tuners
« on: January 30, 2013, 07:17:31 PM »

What is difference between TTS and SEPST?
2008 SEUC
Done with true duals and power cores.
Installing high flow AC
Ready to buy tuner
That is all for this winter but next winter I will be installing cams, .030 head gaskets and doing some head work(mild port and polish)
I have used SEPRT on last scooter with canned tune(map)
I will have it dyno tuned next winter after cams and headwork
Which would you recommend?

Most tuners do basically the same thing. I'm not the most knowledgeable, but....most importantly they control Fuel & Air mixtures across the RPM range. I went with the TTS(Fullsac) because they made it simple to get rid of the cat and you won't find better customer support this side of the Pond. Canned maps to get you started and go from there. Good Luck!!!

.........................................................................................

The Harley offering has fewer parameters you can adjust, which may or may not mean anything to you depending on how detailed you intend to get playing with the tune.  For the vast majority it probably wouldn't make a big difference.  But one area that is hugely different is in customer service and support.  Try getting support from H-D on a SEPST (chuckle), then see how easy it is to get good support from TTS or Fullsac.

If you just plan to leave all the tuning to someone else, you really should spend your time finding a fully qualified tuner first and then let him help you decide on the device.  The device is just the tool, the important part is the guy wielding the tool.

What does your dyno guy use?
Probably best to go with that.
This forum will give you the pros and cons of each system.
IMO, its "service after the sale" that counts.
FWIW, I've done some upgrades after installing the TTS, and upgraded the map I use and my bike runs just the way I like it.
Good luck.
