Tragic!  Snow blowing, dangerous conditions, people are impatient and in a hurry to go nowhere!  I can't understand why they can't regulate truck traffice at peak travel hours of the day around major cities.  I know in parts of California they used to have some sort of regulation for heavy equipment trucks at certain times in the day?  It's not their fault, it's the idiots driving to work not paying attention but with all the congestion the trucks lack of manueverability adds to the danger.

Banning trucks from an Interstate or Highway funded by the state would be tricky, even just for rush hour.  They pay taxes to keep the roads up, more than the cars do, they are properly licensed vehicles and can not be excluded.  Much the same argument as when some towns try to ban motorcycles.  On a public funded road you can't do it.

There are restrictions on trucks with very large loads that are limited to certain times of day but that is a special circumstance.
