Are there availability cutoffs for tourpacks & lowers?
« on: February 01, 2013, 12:15:05 PM »

I have a 12 FLTRXSE and don't think I'll need/want a tourpack for another few years, but would like one on when my kids get to riding age.

Is there a cutoff for colormatched tourpacks and lowers being available?  Like they will make them to order up to 5 years after the bikes manufacture date, etc??

Steve Drane HD told me 2 years for the CVO painted parts.

I'm gonna need a front fender...but I'm going to get an after-market one and, when someone else is getting a TP painted, jump on with them.

Just a followup on this, I talked to the parts guys over at Heritage HD in Lisle, IL.  They said that there is no definite hard stop on the availability, but in their experience the less popular colors are unavailable sooner i.e. 2 years.  The more popular colors tend to be available longer, their guess on the black/white 12 FLTRXSE was 4-5 years due to the popularity of the bike.

You could just cut out the middle-man and get it directly from Gunslinger whenever you want.

'Just bought a chopped tour pack from Harley Nov.2012 for my '09 SERG.

'Guess you know that Gunslinger is a Tier 1 supplier to The MoCo.

I am in process now with Gunslinger on some vented lowers, since the MoCo only offers non-vented, painted in the '09 Charcoal Slate. They informed me that the '09 Charcoal Slate was a different color than the '13 Charcoal Slate, and they had the '09 available.

Gunslinger (I guess through their contract with the MoCo) told me that if Harley does'n offer it, then they can paint it.

So, either way, you should be able to "Git 'er Done"!!

'Hope this helps

Hmmm, I need lowers, saddlebags and both inner and outer fairing for a 2009'er, ordered 01/28/2013, delivery to my German dealer confirmed by H-D for 03/06/2013.

That's not bad I guess  ;)

I'm having the same problem, I picked up a 12 FLHXSE and I want to order a tourpack ,color matched, just in case they discontinue them.
