Montana has a one time license fee for motorcycles and trailers. I think mine was about 125.00 total for the title work and the one time license in Oct 2010

In Minnesota tabs for the bike are $10, then they add on an additional $9.15 in various "fees", for a total of $19.50 annually.

The first year is the most expensive, I paid $490.03 for the first year. My '93 Fatboy was $50.55 for last year, funny I was just looking this up for my taxes and found the Fatboy was $45.55 the year before. I registered three Harley's last year and no kiss for my kindness to the state.

I just paid a combined tax and tags $567. Tags you pay every two years, like $20 a year. The vehicle taxes were the beast!

2007 Serk in Nebraska...

First year: $2357.46 (they do take a bite, don't they - you have to figure about eight percent added to the price for taxes and license)
Second year: $711.90 (they still think it's worth almost as much as you paid)
Third year: $435.50
Fourth year: $343.50
Fifth year: $302.80
Sixth year: $245.40

It isn't until you hit about ten years that it gets reasonable.  That is the main reason I rarely buy a new vehicle.

The Tag was $ 40.00 registration fee with SC dept of Motor Vehicles, Property Taxes  $ 362.00 for a FLHTCUSE8. Sales Tax on the new bike was $ 300 we have a cap of $ 300 on motor vehicles in South Carolina.
