Looking to buy 2011 softail conv and was wondering how members like the bike and what they think a good price would be for one with under 1000 miles Thanks Mike

I have a 2011 ConV and love the bike.  Until the MoCo makes a CVO Heritage I think the ConV is the best balance of street bike and light touring bike.  Under 1000 miles "condition" really doesn't come into play and I would be more concerned about proper break-in procedures having been done properly.  Bike prices always peak in the Spring of the year, IMHO my guesstimate is anything around 22K to 24K would be a price worth considering

Mike, decided to trade the FatBob instead of selling?  The convertible would be a good upgrade from the Dyna (although both are a good bike).  Man, I still don't know why it hasn't sold.  As I told you a couple times, been shopping it around here with no luck.  Expect around $22K to $26K on a good, used convertible depending on condition/miles.  Good luck and let us know what you find.  Are you looking local and national or just local?  Good dealer here in East Tennesse is Smoky Mountain HD in Maryville, TN.  Scott (owner) is a great guy.  Salesman:  Talk to Jay Leath at 865-977-1669 (just in case you want to show outside your area... :2vrolijk_21:)

Thanks for all your help in trying to sell my bike .I am probably going to trade it in.I am trying to figure out if the cvo convertible is going to feel good riding .I am used to drag bars and riding aggressive ,the 2011 has the mini apes ,have no idea how they will fair with my riding style. bye the way i am in contact with a dealer who will give me 17800 on trade, with the tax savings thats close to what i wanted.

Mike,

I don't particularly like the "mini apes" on my 2012 Convertible, so have purchased the fat boy handle bars. They are 1-1/4" bars so will be able to keep the wiring tucked in nicely. Also provides the lower profile that will keep my wrists level which is similar to what I had on the Deluxe, so will be much more comfortable. I am also an aggressive rider, and don't like the way my hands are down and cramped in the wrist area. Not sure how it will look, but I'm more about the comfort of the ride than about the looks. The bars should be in tomorrow and hope to get them on this weekend, so will post pictures once it's done.

My comments are based on buying the bike new so consider that context.

I would not buy the bike again.  It's a great bike, but not $30k great.  Sure, I don't really have to add more chrome and such, but I still needed to add new pipes and a tuner to get it to run cooler (no oil cooler for $30k!) and faster.  That was another grand.  That may not be important to you.  Also, the sound system and NAV is a little wonky.  At any real speed, you cannot fully hear music unless you jack it up pretty loud.  If you use an ipod then you don't have access to it to change stations or advance tracks as it hides in the fairing.  Putting music on the NAV works, but you have to pull the SD card.  It would be great if my iPhone played through the NAV, but the NAV only outputs via Bluetooth, no input.

At the end of the day, I have concluded I either want a faired bike, or I don't.  I jack of all trades is a master of none.

Hey Mike (and mjb), As of this past Saturday, Smoky Mountain HD has a Midnight Sky and Candy Cobalt FLSTSE2 (used) on the showroom that looks brand new.  Just sayin'....don't see the blue much.  Purdy scooter.

I think the convertible is a great all round bike, i do agree its not a full tourer but its does the job and the option to strip it down for shorter rides is great, as far as the price is concerned, a few things should have been standard for 30k but thats the way HD keep you on the hook!
An old photo of mine, made a lot of changes since it was taken but it still looks pretty cool!
