Very few, including me, could imagine a life as hard as this. Thanks for the pics.

For got one ,this is how some goods would come in during the frozen months. This would be a big day having a plain show up. the school and every one would be down to see what came in. At Xmas a airforce bomber would drop all Xmas goods by parachute.

I do remember my dad making moonshine in the back room with the dehydrated goods every thing was dehydrated or caned. the only fresh thing was the meat fish, whale, polar bear, caribou, seal, walrus, snow grouse.

Thats the place Twolaner, you can see the reservoir and how much it's grown from my day. You mite say we were the pioneers at the time.  How did you post that satellite pic?

Did a screen capture while viewing it.  Check your keyboard for a button that reads "Print Screen."  That will save whatever is on screen to your "clipboard" which is just some last-task type of memory.  Then open Paint or some other image editing program and "paste" the clipboard back to the program.

Very interesting, I'm showing it to my 9 and 12 year old boys. I think a lot of kids today take a lot for granted and don't appreciate how easy they have it! Thank you for sharing!!

Great pictures and great story to go along with it.  What a great way to bring up a family as you work to build a community in the wilderness (and what a wilderness....such beauty in God's world).  I know it had to be hard (and great fun) at times but what an experience, story and history you have to share with your kids/grandkids and now with us.  Thanks Pete.
