A few last questions, please
« on: February 10, 2013, 12:28:33 PM »

The more I find out, the more it appears our 110 Screamin Eagle motors aren't so special after-all. One last question and I'm gonna ride it til it dies. Do we even have the upgraded lifters, billet cam plate or hi volume oil pump. I'm afraid I know the answer, but would like to know for sure. Thanks for putting up with my dumb Azz.

I was just in mine this winter for new cams, pistons, and hi volume oil pump.  I know that it does not have a billet cam plate or hi volume oil pump.  Not sure about lifters as I didn't change those, but I doubt it.

Sorry, but there are no SE parts in the stock CVO 110 engine. Only the little bolted-on "Screamin' Eagle 110" plates on the heads.

I put a Feuling cam plate and oil pump in mine, along with HQ Black Ops lifters, Feuling adjustable rods, Cometic MLS .030" head gaskets, and the H-D forged rocker supports. I had roller rockers in it for awhile, but they are noisy and very hard to get the pushrods adjusted properly for... so I went back to the stock rocker arms. They work fine unless you're running very high lift cams.

the 120r engines do have se parts in them - but i think they dont even have them all - but i could be wrong.

they NEVER sell a bike with all the p&a on it - otherwise where would the upfitter revenue stream come from?

Nope, That's why I did what I did to mine, and when your're done you can take the Screamin' Eagle 110 plates off your motor and put on the CNC Ported plates, it will go a lot faster!!! Lol

Just asked the same questions re. TTS starting calibration.  That answers it all.  Start with a 110 basic engine.  CVO designation in the TTS Calibration listing is misleading!
Probably should read a little before starting a new post

I logged 500 miles, then put in Fueling race lifters, SE HV oil pump and plate, valve springs, and pistons. Figured that should cure the common failures.......but the damn motor STILL makes a lot of noise!

No but the bigger question is are they needed and what is wrong with the stock parts?
The 110 does have it's issues or at least it built up a fine list of them in 2007 but today they are OK except the premature lifter failures and spotted issues with cranks, also 96" and 103" issues. The compensator and chain adjuster are issues also are the OEM bike issues too.
A better set of pushrods and lifters would be value added IMHO. That's it.
More oil pressure and volume makes more sump oil and added scavenging all takes power. Oil going over relief just creates heat and the added oil pump size just takes more hp to run. Noise is either valve springs (the harmonics of the design), aggressive cam ramps (yes the 255 has somewhat fast ramps) and or piston slap. If the noise is only hot suspect valve train, only cold suspect piston slap.

In the 110 I personally dont want the 99c or the SE lifters.   Change the 99c for S&S.

The 120r does not come with Roller Rockers, but does come with the plate, pump and lifters.  Again the lifters get promptly removed and S&S get installed and all is back to semi right with the world.

S&S or Wood Directional lifters.
