Lots of threads about bars. I run the Wild 1 Chubbys 575 bars, as many do here. I like where these bars put my hands... about 2" back, an inch or so higher, and about 2" wider than the stock bars. Much more comfortable, and the 1 1/4" bars look beefier as well.

I use to have 575's and wanted something a little taller.  I just installed Yaffee 12" MB Bars.  Better wrist angle and arms are now level.

I went with the 8" Yaffe MB's similar to HDKid but in chrome.  I didn't want my hands above the fairing as it tends to get damn cold in these parts!

The Yaffe's do look great.  I have the WO 575s also. Sometimes I wish I had a little taller.   But I still have the fairing mirrors.   Any taller,, my hands would be in the way.   Someday,  thinking about making a fairing change.   I would hate to see plugged holes.  :nixweiss:     The WO 578 s look really sweet and comfortable.   Cvobrian on this site swears by them.

I just did 10" Yaffe. Haven't had it on the road yet cuz of snow, but they feel good sitting on it. I am 5'7" and my hands are 1 or 2 inches lower than my shoulders. Time will tell if I really like while riding!!

I've run both the Wild 1 Chubby's wo578 bars and the Yaffee Monkey Bars 12.5" in the past, I liked both for what they were but wished I'd gone taller both times.

The bars for the "Orange Crush" are on the work bench and were custom build by Joe Vindikta, they look similar to the Monkey Bars but are a true 16" height and 1.5" round and the workmanship and chrome is outstanding. Cost wise they were in line with the Monkey Bars...maybe a little less then his advertised prices.

Waiting for the weather to warm up a little  and to settle on a few other mods before I tear the bike down. I believe Joe has a rear crash bar that matches the bends in the handlebars ready to match ready to go is also working the front crash bars which will be pretty cool. A buddy of mine bought a set on my recommendation and said they were a breeze to wire up as the extra diameter comes in handy.

I Went with the 8" HHI reaper bar over Yaffe's design is the attention to detain on the inside of the bar as well. To avoid any internal wiring issues etc. Have seen on this site the quality control on some of yaffe's bars are some what not met. How ever I do not like the 6-8 week wait on these bars that have no turned into 12 weeks!!!

Krypto,
I just purchased the Yaffe 10" bars and now I'm starting to get a list together of what I need.  I would really appreciate knowing what I'm in for. I hear it's very challenging sneaking the wires through the points but more importantly did you need to purchase longer brake and clutch hoses?  I heard there's enough slack from HD to fit the 10" Yaffe bars without opening the brake and clutch systems.  Thanks in advance,

I can tell you for certain there was enough slack in the lines that i did not have to purchase longer ones.  I had read numerous threads that said you did not have to extend any wiring either.  That is the route i intended to go.  Ater i pulled my wires, i found there was not a lot of length left, maybe 6 or 7 inches.  I was not comfortable moving the connector under the inner fairing to a different location and possibly stretching wiring.  I ordered 12 inch extensions and waited for them to come before i finished the project.  I guess you could try to get away with removing the hydraulic cylinders without disconnecting the lines, but I would make sure i had an assistant to help hold things.  I did it solo so I did remove the lines from the cylinders, removed the bars as a complete assembly and repalced the new bars as a complete assembly.  Be very paitent with pulling the wires!!  Use some good conduit or wire lube.  I literally had over 4 hours in just pulling wires!!!  Other than extensions and bars, no other parts were needed!!

Good Luck
