MoCo will want in on it! They'll raise MSRP if they cut production, not let the dealers keep all the extra $$$! They create their market somewhat. They know they won't be moving as many bikes as they have been. The market is softer than 3 years ago. So they announce, right before Union contracts need to be negotiated, that they're cutting production. Union panics as it might affect jobs. They get them to concede things easier. Then they raise prices because of the production shortage. Then they'll wait for lists to start at the dealers again before increasing production. That will be when they can move more bikes here again. In the meantime, demand is increasing tremendously overseas. So cutting production is BS anyway. They're just sending them somewhere else.
I love my Harley-Davidsons and like most of you bleed Orange and Black, but don't feel too bad for the MoCo, who uses as to field test there prototypes and perfect them!!! All contributing to the bottom line and higher shareholder returns!!!
My $.02
Hoist! 8-)
Howie,
I think you hit it right on the head. And because most of us do bleed Orange and Black (the best colors for a motorcycle I might add

), we'll suck it up and continue to be loyal to the brand. I never thought I would be able to afford a CVO, but I managed to get one, so if and when all this happens, we'll manage. They just better hope there's enough of a loyal band left. Just my $.02
Cheers [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif],
