The SE5 is already lowered 1" from the standard RK.  I would not want to lower it any more than that by altering the shocks for several reasons including the ride and the lean angle clearance.

I agree with Lunker.  The bike is 1 inch lower in the rear already.  Not sure anyone even makes a shock shorter than the stock on for it.

I sure would not want to loose the lean angle, I have scrapped a couple times already.

The rears are 1" lower than standard at 12" already.
On my '12 SESG I replaced the OE adjustables with a pair of progressive 440's 12" length
Huge improvement in ride quality,,, they make a 11.5" sure doesn't leave you much travel
at all,, after adjusting pre load properly for rear sag, the rears of the 440's sit
approx 1/4" lower than the OE's

The rear shocks on your CVO RK are 1/2" shorter than stock (12 " v. 13").  Shocks do not mount vertically on the bike, however. They are approximately a 42 degree angle to vertical. Mathematically, that translates to a 9/16" difference in a ride height. You can measure it.

Several aftermarket shock options will give you a better ride than the stock shocks. It just depends on whom you ask.  I am happy with the 12" shocks I got from Suspension Technologies through Jim at Metal Dragon. (hd-dood).  Equally as important, BSR's have not complained.  There are also air suspension options but they are more costly.

Thanks for the replies....I stepped up from a 09 Softail with Shotguns on it.....Use to the lower slammed arse effect. Comparing the old slammed Softail to the CVO Roady....   ::)....Is like comparing Apples with Oranges.  ;D....I'll more then likely stick with the standard because man....On these roads here they ride great opposed to what I'm use to. And these roads I ride around here would have to be up there amongst the worst roads in Australia. I was just hoping to get a lower ride for the shorter legged person I am.

You might want to look into modifying the seat.  There are several companies that offer this service and can narrow, lower and/or move forward.  This can help significantly (particulary the narrowing which allows a better stannce when stopped w/feet on the ground).

I weigh 160lbs..  Went with the 11.5" chrome Progressive 444's.  They are soooooo much better riding than stock its crazy.

IMHO, even if they were twice the cost I would do it again in a milisecond!!!

Highly recommended!!

do it with a custom seat if seat height is a problem
don't recommend lowering further for reasons previously stated
