New Steering Head bearings

My poor baby, 28,000 miles and 1st time under the scalpel, steering head bearings, springer service, rear pads, air filter, new tyres and a general service



Like a new bike now, make sure to grease up the headstock on yours

Forgot to remove the lens filter today

Buddy fabricated a stainless steel carrier first week I had the bike




Wanted to make something slimmer but I wasn't having any of it  :nervous: needed the carrying capacity  ::)

Steering head bearing replacement on springers are common.  >:(

What are the symptoms?

A noticable center position, and slight resistence when turning on either side of center.
I'll post a picture of a foolproof way that I use to remove the upper and lower races later.  ;)
