Can't get clutch to disengage totally
« on: March 09, 2013, 03:09:38 PM »

I was wondering if someone could answer this for me : I just started my 07 RD SE today and with the clutch pulled in it still moves forward. The only thing I've done is to put a new tire on. Any thoughts on this ? Never heard of this. Thanks in advance. :nixweiss:

Could be an adjustment on cable, or if Hyd air in line, rubbers in master leaking back. To check for air pump lever half dozen times to see if it will release. if that dose not work remove clutch cover plate to see if there is movement when you depress the lever, if not it could be fair to say the master has failed. hope this helps. Let us know how ya fair out. masters as a rule don't give any notess of failure thy will work one moment and not the next.

You mite want to post an intro. in the New Member Intro. board with your problem also with a pic of your ride. You could get more hits on the problem. Theres a grate bunch of bothers and sisters all willing to help on this site. good luck

Just getting back to you about what you suggested I do to correct my problem. I did what you said to do,pump the lever a bunch of times, and it solved my problem. I guess sitting all winter takes it toll on things.Thank you.

That's grate news j f go. But if it happens again,...will not release on first pull of the lever after a 24/48 hr sit
I would bleed the system, could have a bit of air in the line. after a down time the air bubbles collect in to one bigger bubble. Thats were you get the,...sponge/ compression of the air, pumping the leaver compress the air, after sitting you may find your back to square one, If it dose and you've bled the line,...  and it happens but again then put in a master cyl kit in. Hopping it was just sticky clutch plates and now are freed up.
Happy rolling man
