Heated King Tour-Pak Backrest Pad and Leather Tour-Pak
« on: March 10, 2013, 11:33:31 PM »

Howdy...
After some searching through this forum and 'Googling', I turn to experts. I'm restoring my Leather Tour-Pak, after a nasty little spill, and I'd like to upgrade a little to help keep the wife warmer on our longer rides here. I see this Backrest Pad (54387-11) fits 97-later King Tour-paks. I'm not near an HD Dealer that has a good english-speaking staff, so I'm hoping someone here has done this already and is willing to advise me.

Is this Backrest Pad, 54387-11, a direct replacement for my stock pad on my 2007 FLHTCUSE2 with Leather Tour-Pak? Or can it be easily mounted there with little modification?

Thanks for any information about this.

v/r,
Charles...

Hope this helps.

From http://www.adventureharley.com/sun-ray-heated-king-tour-pak-backrest-pad-comfort-stitch
Fits '97-later Touring and Trike models equipped with King Tour-Pak®. Models not equipped with separate Tour-Pak® backrest lower pad require separate purchase of Tour-Pak® Lower Backrest Pad P/N 52400020.

Not much new here but, why not link it? http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=67672.0

And maybe this.

Thanks Tony...
Both of those sites don't add any more than I've already learned... Looks like my problem is the Leather-wrapped Tour-Paks are forgotten, when it comes to extras like that. I'm just hoping someone has already tried this, on a leather unit, and can let me know how it worked out.

Thanks for the reply... After looking at different pictures, it looks like it won't work. I've ordered the stock replacement. Looks like I'll have to go for the upgrade to a painted King Tour Pak...

Cheers... :drink:

Backrest from the leather tour paks is not interchangeable with the hard paks.

Have one on mine, wife is very happy but only 8 or 10 times a year. If the Leather Tour Pak was my first choice on looks, I would forego the heated backrest.
