Finger prints seem to be pretty common.

Local stealer got the new tank on this past week 11-2-06. Great service. MOCO must had a painted tank on shelf?

Had my bike at the dealer today to go over some warranty stuff after the "fine tooth comb" treatment..

1) Front fairing has three fingerprints (that's right, fingerprints) UNDERNEATH the clearcoat.

2) Front fender in the dark blue area has a "spotty" finish.

Ultras are shipped with the wind shield packed loose.  It is a dealer installed item during the dealer prep.  SOOOOO....dealers are over torquing windshield screws.

Got my bike in September and have 3,200 miles on it, no paint problems as of yet. Bike does have some very slight "Orange-Peal" areas on it; however, it is not worth touching. I get complements on the paint all of the time. :)

I saw a Red Jester at San Diego H-D today during their weekly free BBQ. Sorry for anyone with paint problems, because the paint on this bike was awesome. Man that red POPS in the sunshine. I still don't care for the leather hump on the back and can only imagine how off the charts incredible a king tour-pak with the chrome accents etc would look on this bike in that beautiful sparkling red. Looking at this bike made me realize that it is possible to get one with a great paint job. My advice to those with issues would be to take some high res digital shots of any SEUC you see in your color and then the same shot of your own and show your dealer each and say I expected this, I have this.

:)Went with my buddy on Wednesday to pick up his new B/O Jester and it is awesome. After two days of rain and 28 / 30 degree temps, he has waxed every inch of the bike. No problems found at all, paint is perfect in every way.

 >:( Picked up my new '07 Cherry & Black Ice SE Ultra yesterday....awesome bike!!!!  I did see that the gas tank had several blemmishes and one rough spot near the seat....paint issues continue...

Dealer was great....new tank ordered without any questions or calls to HD.

Check your paint carefully!!!!  I purposely did no get excited about the delivery so that any excitement would cloud my inspection.

I have not seen any paint issues on my bike......after reading all this, I guess I will inspect and report back to you guys.

Only annoying thing I have noticed, is the fact that the cover on the tour pack has wrinkles. Will they replace this?

Negative on the replacement for wrinkles, most leather tour paks are less than perfect,  but maybe depends on your dealer??? Both the dealers I talked too said "no"

Just got my R&B Jester yesterday. The only spot I see is some rough (dirt in paint) type spot at the top edge of the fairing at the base of the windshield. I am thinking the chrome trim might mask it. If this is all I find, I will be happy. This paint looks awesome!!!!

Are all of these paint problems only with the Fiber Glass parts, or is their metal painting suspect as well? [smiley=confused5.gif] Hoist!

Saw my replacement gas tank at HD Dealer last week....it only took several weeks to come in!!!!  Waited for six months for new paint on my '06!!!!

Love this bike!!!!  The Cherry glows in the sun light!!!!   [smiley=cherry.gif]  Began installing accessories that Santa brought....chrome front fairing trim, speaker trim, etc.

New SERT & Exhaust will be installed after 1,000 miles....can't wait to replace stock exhaust, stock exhaust sounds like a baby scooter!!!!!

Still trying to decide whether to buy V & Hs or Rineharts...

Napalm,
Sound of the Rinehart is much deeper than V&H......I had them both on my 103 and liked the Rinehart sound better and the looks of the V&H.
