CFR, fullsac head, stock motor sound clip
« on: March 12, 2013, 10:49:12 AM »

Hi,

Not looking to start another controversy, but only trying to post information that will help someone else make a decision.  I listened to these on youtube and said I have to have that sound.  I read all the posts about how difficultthey are to tune if you have the fullsac head pipe.  I decided to cough up $200 to give them a shot so I bought some knockoffs from American Cycle.  I wanted to hear them for myself before I went through the expense and trouble of getting them tuned and replacing what I have (bike runs well with fullsac heads, 2.25 cores and mastertune) so the bike runs well.  I found a Mastertune dealer nearby that can tune my bike, hopefully it works out?  If not, I sell the knockoffs to someone that has the stock head pipes, if it does run well, I will still sell the knock offs and fork out the cash for the fluted tips CFR.   I know this is a cheap sound clip with my Iphone, if you like the sound, you will absolutely love them live.  This clip does not bring out that muscle car deep tone well enough.  Hope this helps?

Not concerned about the dyno sheet.  I'm 53 years old, I enjoy riding, most of my riding is highway touring.  I'm not a street light to street light guy, I gave that stuff up a while ago.  Riding a motorcycle is dangerous enough with all the idiots on the road, I'm not really interested in stretching the barrier any further than the 110.  It's more about the sound and the ride, the bike needs to run well, I already have read enough that I will lose low end torque with this muffler, I have a 30t sprocket so that will make up for it and get me even?  I will let you know how hard it is to tune and if it can be done to my satisfaction.  If not, I will let everyone know to stay away from these mufflers once and for all.  I have $200 invested in the muffler, another $300 to get it tuned.  I will sell the mufflers to someone stubborn like myself if I'm not satisfied.  If I am, then I will spend the $650 for the real deal?  Stay tuned, but it will be a while, just snowed last night again!

Yep, I have been for years, white LED's never had an issue even though I have been told its a no no many times  :P  I have been told they are very visible during the daytime and night time.

I have the Same setup... I also need for the snow to disappear. Curious to see and hear what the tuning brings you...

I don't know?  It snowed last night, it will be a while until I get that chance.  I will need to see if I can get the bike running right and tuned before I go any further.  Theres a good sound clip on You Tube, CFR Knockoffs vs Jackpots.  The guy did a great job recording the sound and video, I think he had a video camera on the back of the bike at highway speeds?
