I have rode a Harley for 18 years and always wore a half helmet until about 8 months ago. My brother in law talked me into it so I bought a european Schuberth C3 Pro and fell in love with it! I was worried with the warm weather coming I would be too hot in it so I just bought the Schuberth SR1 which is not a modular (I bought the modular because I figured when I got the last one that I would leave it flipped up unless I was at high speeds. Turned out after I got used to it the only time I ever have it flipped up is when I first put it on) and has much better ventilation. Put about 200 miles on it this weekend and love it. Very light and great ventilation. Even has small adjustable "ear vents" so you can hear your bike/stereo better (purpose of vents is for racing so you can hear the other bikes around you) which is perfect for us Harley guys. When I told the people at the BMW store where I shopped for it that I liked that I could hear better with the vents open they thought I was nuts!
Seems like the current trend is people going to full faces...

Welcome to the site, Doug and sounds like you have that new HD coming soon.  We need pictures when you do finally take ownership BTW.
My take on the extended warranty:  If you are going to keep it for a while outside the normal 2 year factory warranty, get it but shop around for the best deal as you don't have to purchase from your dealer (as others have already stated).  If you plan on trading in a year or so (within the 2 year, unlimited mileage factory), no need.  As for the riding suit and helmet type?  Use what you feel comfortable with.  If you feel more comfortable in the full suit and full face helmet, go for it.  We all have opinions here and while there are some that wear a full face, there are still some of us (me included) that wear half helmets.  Full face helmets give me a claustophobic feeling and I never found a 3/4 I liked.  Found a good, HD hybrid half helmet couple years ago that's light, strong and comfortable.  Again, it's what YOU feel comfortable with so whatever you decide, ride that CVO with pride and enjoy the experience...
...oh, and keep it between the ditches... :bananarock:
