2012 Seat
« on: March 19, 2013, 12:26:05 PM »

I hope this has not been addressed before hence boring to the forum members. I have the opportunity to buy a 2012 SE CVO Ultra Classic heated seat. Question, is this a hammock seat like the CVO Road Glide with a different covering? Having severe right cheek butt turn, always looking to more miles and smiles.....

Yes, pretty sure it is a Hammock seat. I think it is the same as CVO Road Glide with different covering as you stated. I bought one for my 09' it has been good for me. Did it look like this one?

You'll be very happy with that seat!  This is the first HD seat, I didn't change out because it is so comfortable. :2vrolijk_21:

Pretty sure that pic is not a 2012 SEUC seat. Looks more like hammock seat from 2008 or maybe 2009. Best way to tell is to check the part number. The part number on mine is PN 52000028A. Yes, press the top rocker for high heat.

That's a  2010 CVO Ultra Classic FLHTCUSE5 seat. Just wanted you to know what you were getting. IMO that seat will be a lot less comfortable than the newer version of the 2012.

I just discovered it was advertised as a 2010 seat. Guess that is what I got. Now, how does it differ from a. 2011 or 2012 ?

It's a 2010 CVO Ultra (FLHTCUSE5) seat.  It's a good seat but not as comfortable as the 2011 and up.  I'm looking to replace mine with the  2013 seat.

Don't know what the 6/10/12 means. No guessing that is what you got. I could tell from looking at the pic of the seat you posted it was not a 2012 seat. The part number and the FLHTCUSE5 was all the proof I needed. Exactly how they are different in a technical sense I don't know. MOCO changed the shape and added the Harley Bar@Shield as seen in the pic I posted of the 2012 seat on the Yellow and Black SEUC. I think the 2011 seat is different from the 2012 in looks and pad shape/design. I know I snagged mine off of Ebay for $600.00 because the seller did not know what he had and I am glad and have been very happy with it. I did a lot of testing/sitting on different seats before I made my decision.

Ronsat -
I recently bought a FLHTCUSE5 which has the original seat; this one. I have not tried the later models so I cannot compare.
Having said that my wife loves it. She broke her tailbone very badly as a young woman, and has never been able to come on rides longer than 20 minutes, ever, due to extreme discomfort. With this bike she is overjoyed to be able to come on any ride she wants.
When I bought the bike, I was determined to get the Rush Cyclepedic seat, which is specially designed for those with broken tailbone, but first try with this seat was 150 miles, and still a smiling wife. So I will stick with this one for now. They have removed the heated option that was planned for the Cyclepedic, and with winter approaching the Southern hemisphere, I am looking forward to giving my stock seat a full workout!
I have removed the rider backrest to give wife a bit more room, and will get the George Anderson extender soon.
Cheers,
Peggers

In the past have always replaced stock seat with a Mustang seat.  But this 2013 stock seat seems just fine.  Haven't put too many miles yet but so far so good.
