Will This Radar Mount Fit ULTRA?
« on: September 21, 2006, 02:02:30 PM »

I want to mount my Passport 8500 radar detector on my '07 SE Ultra. I found this neat chrome mount on the internet.
It says it will fit the Ultra, but my question is that the flat plate the radar detector sits on is a maximum of 4.25" above the handlebar. Is that high enough to clear the fairing so that the radar detector can pick up the radar signal through the windshield? I would measure the distance from top of my handlebar (left side next to the hydralic clutch resevoir) up to the top of the fairing (bottom of the windshield) to see if it will work but my bike is in the shop for last 8 days and don't know when it will be out. Has anyone used this product or if not do your measurements on you CVO Ultra appear that this mount will be high enough to allow the detector to receive signals through the windshield.

Ace...don't know about the height, but I can attest to the quality of the product.  Excellent!!  If you want to look at their entire line of products, with photos and applications, go here:

I purchased mine directly from the company...great people to do business with, and very helpful with the selection of everything you need.

103tHunDer was the one who recommended this company to me, but he's all jealous because mine has the chrome plate and they didn't make it when he got his  :P :P ;)

I use it for my Garmin GPS
